An Uncivilized Parrot

Here is a humorous story I heard somewhere

Once Mulla Nasurideen’s wife went to the market where she saw a beautiful parrot in a shop. She went to the shop-owner and wished to buy the parrot.
Shop-owner said,” Madam! This parrot is much uncivilized and abusive as it has just brought from a brothel. So, I will warn you before you buy.”
His wife replied confidently,” Sir! It cannot be more uncivilized than my husband. If I can look up him, this parrot is not a big deal.”
As his wife arrived with parrot at her home, the parrot said,” New mistress, new home.”
Soon as his children arrived, the parrot said,” New mistress, new home, new children.”
In evening, Nasurideen arrived with a weary and pale face.
As soon as, he entered into home, the parrot said,” New mistress, new home, new children but the same old customer.”

*Have you not laughed, just read it again.

A Story Of An Old Man

A heavy breath was rustling in the air. His legs were running as death was chasing him. As he arrived at the gate of hospital, he stopped suddenly but inertia has its own laws. He fell on the ground against the rocky steps. A stream of blood flew from his head and mingled to brown earth, created a shocking sensation to everyone present there. People ran but he was fainted. It was not tough to hold a body of seventy years and fifty kilogram.
People took him to the hospital. Incidentally, he was in same room where his wife was counting her last breaths. Six months before doctor had diagnosed that she was in the last stage of cancer and today doctor had predicted that it was her last day.
Soon doctors revealed that old man had got a severe head injury and it was time to pack his all dealings.
But as the old man heard this news, a mild smile mixed with tranquillity and gratefulness coloured his face. Everyone was bemused. Accidently, old man had found his wish, completed.

* Dear reader! Tell me why old man was smiling?

A Brief Difference In The Attitudes Of Two Historical Identities

A poet, a painter, a novelist, an essayist, a story writer and a mystic, so many personalities when entwined into one, an historical identity takes into a form of a man, whose songs are sung as the National anthem across border.
Guess! Who is this great personality?
It is none other than first Nobel laureate of India, Ravindra Nath Tagore.

Gandhi Ji defended idols and he used to believe people cannot follow the abstract ideas about God.
Tagore did not agree that people were so childish. He believes that somehow accepting these types of thing without any reason or thinking will lead a man to distressful circumstances.
Gandhi Ji was a true believer of God in its human form. He himself took many fast and used to chant Ram.
Tagore did not believe in counting and chanting mantras on beads. In one of his poem he says,"

Leave this chanting and singing and telling of beads! Whom dost thou worship in this lonely dark corner of a temple with doors all shut?
Open thine eyes and see thy God is not before thee!
He is there where the tiller is tilling the hard ground and where the pathmaker is breaking stones.
He is with them in sun and in shower, and his garment is covered with dust.

Gandhi Ji believed that sexual life was incompatible to moral progress of human life.  He had firm belief in celibacy and in later period of life he used to experiment on celibacy.
Tagore did not belief on such ideas.

According to Gandhi Ji, every person must use ‘ charakha’ at least for 30 minutes in a day.  Tagore refusal was based on the point that using charakha for 30 minutes did not make a man to think or to develop reasoning.
Where Gandhi ji strictly opposed the western products and culture and favoured only indigenous products, Tagore remained stand on his position of the necessity of harmony of culture and benefits of western products.

There are differences, quite significant. But both had one dream that was a happy, prosperous India and both knew it well. He was Tagore who called Gandhi JI ‘Mahatma’, (The Great Soul). However Gandhi Ji proved to a great leader and till now more famous and respected in every nook and corner of world, the mysticism and sensitivity of Tagore still prevails today in the form of his mesmerizing paintings and illuminating literature

PADHAKU JOKER: An initative taken by students of IT-BHU

Well, I am feeling elated that some of my juniors (3rd year in IT-BHU) have done something which we should be proud of. Their initiative in the field of education is appreciable. Normally, when a student passed his 10th board and 12th board, many big questions stand in front of them. In the dark shadow of these questions he is bemused to choose the path which can lead him to destination, as he wishes in his life. At that time, knowledge of the options available in the field of education can provide a better understanding of the choices that he can make, according to their interest, capabilities and stamina. The convergence of students to particular profession is utter lack of knowledge of other option. Students are focusing only in engineering, medical and managements. Why?  Somehow students are not aware about other options, like aviation industries, advertising, journalism, sports and tourism. The prejudice of particular profession (Ek anaar, Kai Bimaar) is creating competition, frustration and dissatisfaction.

A good interaction and counselling is very much essential to understand our interest and to know our capability. Often students are being misguided. They are choosing their profession by just imitating others. And then there is starting of unduly frustration and depression which finally lead them to unemployment.

Money matters in life. And education is not an exception. There are many schemes like scholarship, loans which can help students to come out such economic crisis. Proper information of these schemes is very necessary. But unfortunately, inadequacy of such knowledge breaks the dream of millions of Indian students.

All this has been started in the form of web portal with an amiable name’ PADHAKU JOKER’. This site will not only tell students about the options available but also about the coaching centres and colleges according to their rank and performances. Motivation in form of ‘Guru Gyan’, education related current news in the form of ‘Mixed Basket’ is also available. There is much more. To know more, Visit

I hope this site will brought some significant changes in education system and a happy smile in the ailing face of thousand of Indians.

JAI HIND.....:)
*And one thing ,ISRO has launched its much awaited desi Google earth ‘BHUVAN’. Visit the site http://bhuvan.nrsc.gov.in/

Are We Really Free?

In the dazzling and flashing light
The chains, that has tied us
Is not visible, saying us free
These chains are social, religious and cultural
Chocking our ears, closing our eyes
We are persuaded with an imposing sigh
That we are free, but, are we free?
Are we not handcuffed by the superstitions, caste
Irrational beliefs and orthodox thoughts?
Are not we crippled by the terrorism
And raped by the corruption?
Have we not lost the stream of reason
In the lifeless barren desert of beliefs?
Are we not hinging our eyes to economical Index
Neglecting the poor, hungry, ailing face ?
Is this the freedom, our fighters fought for?
Is this the tree of democracy
That was irrigated by the blood of our martyrs?
It is easy to be free from visible, by an administration
But what about our thoughts, the thoughts
Which makes us fight for Mandir and Masjid?
Which make us dominate over other caste, other sex?
Are not they results of slavery for centuries?
We need revolution, an intellectual one!
Then only, we can say that we are living in free nation.

Eve teasing ...

Eve teasing, exploitation and abuse, a girl will be definitely an exception if she has not witnessed these disastrous incidents once, in her whole life. I have just read about such a shocking incident, happened to a girl from a blog. What triggers a man to do such heinous and shocking evil?  Is it our culture; is it our morality for which we are boasting from centuries? Where is the fundamental fault that is distorting their soul into such a sick and sullied soul?

Let me tell you a story first...

Once, Sigmund Freud was holidaying with his wife and 8 year child in a beautiful park. While they were returning, Freud and his wife got shocked when they did not find his child with them. Freud asked his wife at once,” Did you forbid the child to go any place in the park?” His wife could not understand what an absurd question, he was asking. But with puzzling mind, he replied that she prohibited him not to go near fountain. Soon Freud and his wife approached to the fountain, they found their child standing nearby the fountain.
What does this story teach...?

Denial creates attraction. A child rarely accepts the ban imposed, if he do then it is just superficially, but not psychologically. As we grow, this denial becomes habitual and psychologically, we are caught up in the grave danger of duality.

Denial of natural impulses is suppression. The slight deviation from the denied mentality creates the sense of guilt. Suppression and sense of guilt make a man, mentally weaker. The lack of option to satisfy the desire, arising due to physiology of human body, leads one to commit crimes. A psychological freedom is necessary, but freedom without knowledge in these regard is not adequate. What do you feel, who has more probability to commit crimes, a suppressed, non-intellectual, frustrated, dejected and depressed man or a psychologically free, intellectual, happy man. An artistic man transforms his suppression into his artistic expression. So somehow I feel that art is effective to release the natural impulses.

Denial is still prevailing in the society. I was amazed to know that in this era also there are engineering colleges (Satybhama University) who puts a curtain between boys and girls while giving lectures to them. Do you think it can stop the eve teasing? I think it will stimulate its breeding.
Love, companionship and knowledge can only eliminate the roots of such evil. Fear and prohibition are temporary solution. I am not saying that eve teaser should not be punished and should start providing them love and companionship instead of sending them to jail. What I want to say with the temporary solution of fear, we should sow the seeds of love and knowledge in the minds of youth so that the root of evil can be cut down.

As Bertrand Russell explains,
Healthy, outward-looking men and women are not to be produced by the thwarting the natural impulses, but by the equal and balanced development of all the impulses essential to happy life.”

Cheers!

Blogging

Thousand thoughts are rumbling in mind
Trying to find a way to come out
Senses want to be turned into words.
Rebellion, inside me, wants a voice
Is not blogging a good choice?
Curiosity turns into philosophy
Beatific senses turn into music
Logic turns into explanation
Observation turns into experience
Gaiety turns into humour
It is a way to witness myself
To know and grow friends,
Word connects our soul,
Albeit located in far places
Albeit of different ages
We share friendship
With love, laughter and poetry
Your Comments are gift
And visits, reward
I am so glad to be a blogger
Thank you, God!

Variation in Creation; An unresolved Question

Why does existence make so much disparity, so much variation in this creation? Is it really a variation or an illusion to our eyes? From a simple structure of Amoeba, to a complex structure of Human being existence contains everything. Does existence play a game of permutation and combination or it has some purpose to do so?

Scripture tells that there is a supreme authority that is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. Even a leaf cannot shake without his approval. Now this philosophy contradicts the good or bad. I would say it totally abolish this fact that something is good or bad. How? If god is doing, deciding everything then if someone is killing, robbing or raping, it cannot be without the approval of god. We are just medium to do god’s work. So there is nothing like good or bad. If there is nothing like good or bad, then what is significance of past and next life?

Now, some philosopher argues that men have ability to choose. Yes! It sounds quite logical as we can feel the sense of choosing.  If we can choose something, at the same time can decide not to choose that thing. Now, if the concept of past life is concerned, I am here due to my past life. The deeds, I have done have let me a new life in this mortal world. Now If I can choose, what is the significance of my past deeds? Assume I was destined to live happily for25 years due to my past deeds, I go and stand in front of running truck; Am I not capable to change the effect of past life? If I am capable, I am not finding any significance of past life.
So these theories are not acceptable for describing the variation in creation.

Existence creates you as an individual with unique identity, biologically unique genetic structure. It does not create carbon-copies. But when we see, we observe the things in the projection of our thoughts and start judging things, like he is beautiful, as he is fair; he is ugly as he is dark. Beautifulness becomes projection of two opposites, fair and dark. If you see a man as an individual, without judgement, without any prejudices we can catch a glimpse of the scenery that is observed by existence while creation. This same thing is applied in interspecies. We make our opinion like human species is the most intelligent, most powerful. But intelligence and power are human’s word. This is our projection of thoughts in which we feel superior but no one knows about other species.  Every species has own uniqueness, so no reason to comparison. If you understand it, then you would again say that all the fingers of hand are not same but not with the sense of hierarchy of some finger over other, but with the sense of uniqueness.

Just imagine your body; millions of cells (remember! Cells have life) form our skin, blood and bones. This whole combination lets you feel that this is your body, a feeling of self. In the same way it may happen also that all the living things like human, birds, amoeba and bacteria; all the dead things like soil, rock, air which are confine into this infinite galaxy, feels a sense of one being (in a same way as we feel about our body that this is my body). To my mind, this is GOD (existence).
